In an historic weekend for Letterkenny Gaels, the senior ladies and U14 girls’ gaelic teams competed in matches for the first time.

In what was a historic day for the club on Sunday last April 10th, Letterkenny Gaels fielded there first Adult Ladies GAA Team. Cloughanaeely rushed out of the blocks the quickest and were soon leading 3 points to no score. Our girls refused to panic and at half time it was 0-6 to 0-3 favoring the home team. In the 2nd half after a few positional changes the girls came back to level scores after a great goal from annette pearson brought our girls back to level the game. Unfortunately Gaels were unable to get the all important score to go in the lead. In the end up Cloughaneely experienced players came to the fore and they closed out the game to win by a point. Gaels were well served by their captain Aoife Cannon and Carla Bourne in defence, Annette Pearson and Lisa Shields up front. Training resumes this Wednesday night at 7 oclock with all girls requested to attend. larger picture
