Letterkenny Gaels U14's kicked off this years campaign with a well earned draw away against Buncrana, but will surely rue missing a penalty during the latter stages of the second half, However the management were very pleased with the result and the work rate of all players used, Ronan Frain got the first point and Connor Farrell added a goal as the Gaels raced into  1-4 lead before Buncrana got to terms and scored 4-1 by half time as a result of some basic errors in the Gaels defence. The second half initially appeared to be a rout for Buncrana as they scored an early goal but the Gaels dug deep and the movement of Kieran Patton to Goals changed the game with him making some excellent saves and the defence working hard to ensure that Buncrana were kept to a Goal and 5 points in the second half. Meanwhile the Gaels forwards and midfield scored 3-3 to ensure a draw on the night. Ross Marley scoring 2-4 and Micky Sweeney scoring 1-1. P Melaugh, C Farrell, T Cassidy  and J Doherty were in top form. While the players were happy to come away with a draw they will also be aware that much improvement is required. Final Score Buncrana 5-6  Letterkenny Gaels 4-9. next match at home v Termon on Sunday at 12 noon. training continues on Friday 8-9 at Game On.
