Club Notes W/ending 13th Nov 2011

We held our annual underage presentation on Saturday 12th in the Vestry, St. Conal’s. Boys and girls who play in all age groups from under 6 to under 14 were awarded with certificates and medals for their efforts throughout the year. For the first time, the girls underage gaelic panel were present and received certificates for their achievements throughout the year. The hurling awards were presented by Martin McGrath, Joe Boyle and Enda McDermott from Burt GAC, special guests on the day, who were part of the Lory Meagher Donegal winning team. The football awards were made by Oisin Cannon and Ciaran Lynch, members of the Gaels U21 County B Championship winning team.
Player of the Year winners were
 
  • U13 Gaelic – Rory Quinn presented by Oisin Cannon
  • U14 Gaelic – Cormac Cannon presented by Ciaran Lynch
  • U13 Hurling – Paul Ferry presented by Enda McDermott
  • U14 Hurling – Rory Quinn presented by Joe Boyle
  • U14 Girls Gaelic players player – Anna Gallagher presented by Oisin Cannon
Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal provided by the Vestry and thanks must go to Mick Quinlevin and his team. Appreciation also to Ciaran Kelly and Caoimhe Doherty for the traditional music. This annual family event is growing year by year and a big thank you is made from Letterkenny Gaels to all parents/guardians, children and supporters who continue to help the club grow and be successful.
 
The Dinner Dance will take place at the Silver Tassie Hotel on Wednesday the 28th December 
 
The adult reserves completed their league campaign with a victory over Red Hughs (0-12 to 2-3) at Páirc Na nGael on Sunday last . The team had good performances from Shane Gildea, Anthony Mc Daid and Mark Hunter    
 
The Club held a very successful Night at the Races in Arena 7 on Friday last. Thanks to all who sponsored races,bought horses and supported on the night.
 
Indoor gaelic training continues in Woodland School next week
  • Monday 6-7pm for girls 9-11yrs: 7-8pm for girls 12-14yrs.
  • Monday 8-9pm ladies gaelic.
  • Camogie training in Woodland Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm

Lotto results for weekending the 13th November 11,14,15 and 20  Match 3 winner was  Adrian Thompson, Glebe, Letterkenny. Lotto Jackpot for this weekend will be 1650Euro.
