Club Notes W/Ending 3rd June 2012

The adult teams had no game at the weekend. The seniors and reserves play Naomh Ultan this Saturday evening.Throw Inns at 6pm and 7.30pm.
 
The Under 12s hosted Glenswilly at the Glebe on Monday, the orange team commenced proceedings minus 7 of their team, and gave the visitors a good game before losing by the narrowest of margins. The green team who were missing 5 first team players due to a mixture of holidays and injuries, took to the field next. They went into an early lead with points from Ronan Frain, Ross Marley, Mickey Sweeney and an excellent goal from Ronan Frain, Gaels never relinquished this lead although Glenswilly closed the gap in the second half. This was a great team performance, with the newcomers stepping up to mark, Kyle Ellis had a great game in goals while Brian McHugh, Kieran Kilfeather and Sean O'Baoil also shone, missing players will be under pressure to regain their places. Final score Gaels 1.10 Glenswilly 2.5. Thanks to Stephen and John for refereeing. Away to Gweedore next week.
 
The U14 girls gaelic team won a hard fought match away to Red Hughs in the league. The team played their strongest match of the campaign with everyone doing their best. Next match is away to Gweedore.
 
U14 boys gaelic were the winners at Páirc na nGaeil against St.Eunan's C. On the night, Peter O'Donnell, Eoin Harkin and Kyle Silva led the way with some excellent play.Next match is at home vs Robert Emmetts on Wednesday evening.
 
U14 hurlers were defeated in the 1st round of the championship by a strong St.Eunan's team. No match this week, training on Tuesday and Thursday.
 
Congratulations to Gaels camogie players, Laura Foody, Niamh Hanley, Cliona Conaghan and Úna Quinn who all played for Donegal in a blitz in Antrim last weekend. U14 and U12 league starts this week.
 
Tirconnaill Harps from Glasgow visited Gaels last Saturday and everyone enjoyed a day of hurling. Our frequent visitors took part in a training session and mini blitz with Gaels underage players. Thanks to all who helped out on the day.
