Letterkenny Gaels Club Notes.

The senior & reserve footballers had mixed results at the weekend when they travelled to Milford with the reserves sharing the spoils and the seniors narrowly losing out.

This weekend attention turns to the Junior Championships where both teams play Downings. The games are part of a double header which will be played in Termon on Sunday. Throw in times are 1.30pm (Junior B) & 3pm (Junior A)
Please come out and support both teams.

Hard luck to our U-21 lads who were defeated by Fanad Gaels in the quarter finals of the Championship at The Glebe on Tuesday evening.

Congratulations to Shay Doherty who represented Letterkenny Gaels on the Buncrana Cup under 16 squad on Saturday last. Shay played half forward against Armagh and added two points on the day.

In an exciting new venture to extend the range of activities it offers off the field, Letterkenny Gaels is planning to stage a three act play in October.
Directed by Paddy O’Connor, “Widows Paradise” is a hilarious comedy by Sam Cree with a cast of ten.
All club members are invited to audition for parts in the play on Monday next 24th and Tuesday 25th August at the Clubhouse from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
The roles are: 4 females (of mature years), 4 males (of a similar age bracket), 1 female and 1 male (both late teens, early 20s)
Don’t let lack of acting experience deter you from taking part – this may be the very opportunity you’ve been waiting for to discover your inner diva!
Equally important assistants are required to work off stage and backstage in the production. Please come along on Monday evening if you are free to help out in the non-acting roles.

The U-16 footballers had an away victory over neighbours Glenswilly in the Championship on Monday and are due to play St. Eunans next Monday.

Well done to club men Rory Boyce and Thomas Keys who won All Ireland Community Games gold medals as part of the U-16 relay swimming team.
