Club Notes W/E 17th June 2012

Our seniors and reserves were both defeated at home to Milford at the weekend. Both teams are away to Convoy on Saturday with 6pm and 7.30pm throw inns. 
 
The Under 12s entertained our neighbours on Monday evening at the Glebe, the orange team were out first and were well beaten by a much stronger Eunans team. The green teams then took to the field and St Eunans went into an early lead which they never relinquished in the second half in terrible conditions Gaels dug deeper Diarmud Cahill getting a goal and a much improved performance all round from all players. Final score St Eunans 4.13 Gaels I.3. Away to Downings next week.
 
U8 gaelic squad played at a blitz in Downings where all players did their best and showed determination.
 
The U10 squad travel to Buncrana on Saturday morning for a Blitz.
 
The U12 girls travelled to Buncrana for a blitz with Buncrana and St. Eunans. The girls won 4 matches and drew a 5th. Our defence was excellent throughout and scores were well taken. The girls again showed improvement and great potential. Thanks to Buncrana for a well run blitz and refreshments. In a very enjoyable game,
 
U14 girls defeated Malin in their final league play-off match. Gaels started well with Eimear Lynch, Isabella Patton and Laura Foody driving forward from half back. Sarah Boyce, Anna Gallagher and Niamh Farrell took their scores and Gaels ran out winners by 2.9 to 2.2. The girls have won all 4 play-off matches and now await semi-final opponents. Training for all girls is on Monday 6pm, new players always welcome.
 
U14 gaelic squad finished their league with a win as Downings did not field. Training continues on Wednesday.
 
Burt defeated U14 hurlers in the County B final in Pairc na nGael last Thursday. Burt started well playing into a stiff breeze whilst Gaels finished strongly and missed a few scores. Best for Gaels on the night were Cathair Doherty, Rory Quinn and Donal McCormack. U12/14 training on Tuesday and Thursday 5.45pm
 
U12 camogie team started their league with a home win against Burt. In their first competitive match, the girls were determined and battled against a strong team. They showed great potential for the future. Training is on Tuesday 6-7pm, new girls welcome
