Club Notes ending 19th August

The club are holding their Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday September 2nd. The day will include a Barbecue, Gaelic & hurling games, athletics, Novelty events and many fun events. Something for all the family. The popular family relay and the favourite stocks will be in big demand. All members keep this date free.
 
Gaels hosted a very successful u10 hurling blitz on Sunday morning with teams from Aodh Rua, Setanta, St. Eunan's, Gweedore and Gaels taking part. Showing great determination, our young team won all but one of their matches. Thanks to young whistlers Rory and Ciaran and to parents who helped with refreshments.
 
Congratulations to U14 gaelic squad and managers Oisín Cannon and Aaron Stewart on winning the Div 3 Championship Shield. Up against Termon, the boys raced to an early lead and were still holding an advantage at half time. Despite a Termon comeback, two Gaels goals in the second half sealed victory with a 4.10 to 2.8 win.
This was a team performance with all players determined to do their best. Captain Eoin Harkin was presented with the trophy by Gerard McGinley at the final whistle. Training for the boys continues on Wed 6.30pm with the league shield decider coming up soon.
  • Underage gaelic training continues on Sunday 11am.
  • Underage hurling training on Tues (u12) at 6pm and for all ages, Thurs 6.30pm.U16 hurling Friday 6pm.
  • Camogie is on Tuesday 6pm.
  • Girls Gaelic on Monday 6pm with senior ladies gaelic training at 7.30pm.
Lotto results for week-ending the 12th August No's drawn were 4,10,15 & 17. Match 3 winner was Mark Curran Port Road Ballyraine.
 
Lotto results for week ending the 19th August was 2,14,21 & 24. Match 3 winner was Terence Diver , Friends of the Gaels.
 
The Reserves were defeated at Páirc na nGael by Lifford in the 1st leg of the junior championship on Sunday. The game was evenly matched until two killer goals sealed it for the visitors late on. Gaels had good performances from Pauric Breslin, Paddy Doherty and Barry Boyle. The return leg is pencilled in for Saturday evening in Lifford at 7pm. Come along and support the team.
