Last weekend both our reserve and senior footballers lost their games to Naomh Muire. This weekend we are at home to Downings. See Facebook for fixture details. All support welcome.

Well done to Cahair O'Dochartaigh & Brian Diver who played with the Donegal Minor Hurlers in their impressive victory over Armagh in the Ulster quarter final in Ballybofey at the weekend. Both lads had a massive impact on the game and now look forward to the Ulster semi final against Derry in the first week in July.

Congratulations to Letterkenny Gaels player Peter O'Donnell who came joint 2nd in the Donegal Senior Puc Fada competition which took place on Monday on Kirkneedy Mountain.

On Saturday morning our U-8 footballers travelled to Killygordan for a Blitz versus Red Hughs. Both clubs fielded three teams with a mix of boys and girls on each side. There was great football skills on display and all games were played with great spirit and effort.  Thanks to Damien Wilson and Red Hughs for the hospitality and a very well run blitz.

Two teams from the Letterkenny Gaels U10s squad took part the annual Joe Larry Memorial tournament held in Ardara on Monday 5th June. Both teams were drawn in a very tough group with Malin and Glenties, who went on to win the overall competition.  These young Gaels battled well and the BLUE team progressed to the Plate Final but were unfortunate to loose out to Pettigo in the Final. The Letterkenny Gaels RED team went out in the semifinal of the plate to a very stong Glenfin team who went on to win the Plate competition. The teams travelled back to Arena 7 for some hard earned refreshments and food.  Thanks to all the coaches and parents who travelled to Ardara to support our young footballers and a special thank you to Enda and Claire Nicholls for the kind hospitality in Arena 7. Thanks to John McConnell and the Ardara CLG for a very well run tournament and the kind hospitality show to Letterkenny Gaels.

Both teams had 4 matches against teams from Carndonagh, Burt, St Eunans, Muff & Na Magha. The pinks were undefeated whilst the purples showed great progress. With most other clubs having 8 players, it was wonderful to see 22 Gaels wearing their maroon jerseys with pride. Lots of singing on the way home & a few treats from the shop!
